Prior to starting his private practice, Dr Yuen Heng-Wai served as Head of the Otology, Balance & Hearing Implant Service, where he led the development of hearing implant services and provided subspecialty care in ear, hearing and balance disorders.

Dr Yuen Heng-Wai graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore. He subsequently obtained his postgraduate qualifications in Otolaryngology, including MRCS (Edinburgh), MMed (Otorhinolaryngology), DOHNS (England) and was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Otorhinolaryngology). He also holds a Master of Health Professions Education from Maastricht University.
After completing specialist training, Dr Yuen underwent subspecialty fellowship training in Otology, Neurotology, Hearing Implants and Lateral Skull Base Surgery at overseas centres in Canada and Australia, where he received training in the management of ear disease, hearing loss, balance disorders and hearing implantation.
Prior to starting his private practice, Dr Yuen served as a consultant at Changi General Hospital, where he later headed the Otology, Balance & Hearing Implant Service. During this period, he was involved in the development of hearing implant services and provided subspecialty care for adult and paediatric patients with ear, hearing and balance conditions.
Dr Yuen is also involved in medical education and holds Adjunct Associate Professor appointments with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, Duke-NUS Medical School and the Department of Biomedical Engineering, National University of Singapore. He participates in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training programmes.
He maintains a clinical interest in adult and paediatric ENT conditions, including ear and hearing disorders, balance conditions, nasal and sinus disorders, throat conditions, thyroid and head and neck conditions, as well as sleep-related breathing disorders.
