What Are The Advantages Of Having Septoplasty?

After the septoplasty procedure, you can expect the following:

  • Improved breathing– Due to the opening up of the nasal passages, the overall breathing function is greatly improved.
  • Restored senses – Some patients lose their sense of taste or smell as a result of the nasal blockage. Once the airway is working properly, these senses are usually completely restored.
  • Improved sleep health – When the septum is in the proper shape, and allowing maximum airflow, patients are less likely to suffer from lowered sleep quality from snoring or obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
  • Decreased occurrence of sinus infections, nosebleeds, or headaches– Widening the nasal passageway ensures proper drainage of the sinuses, which reduces stuffiness and pressure headaches.
Septoplasty Cost in Singapore

The average price of a septoplasty procedure in Singapore starts from $6500. This does not include the price of initial consultations or follow-up appointments.

What Is Septoplasty and Are You A Candidate?

Septoplasty is a surgical procedure used to correct deviations of the septum by removing or reshaping deviated portions of the nasal bone and cartilage. Unlike rhinoplasty which is a cosmetic surgery performed to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the nose, the goal of septoplasty surgery is to improve functionality by eliminating nasal blockage. You’re a candidate for septoplasty if you have the following symptoms:

  • Recurring nosebleeds
  • Troubled Breathing
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Reduced ability to smell
  • Headaches, Facial Pain, Snoring

What To Expect Afterwards?

Following a septoplasty, you may need to take some precautions to avoid complications such as bleeding and swelling in the first few weeks after your surgery. Your doctor will advise you on certain postoperative instructions on care and treatment during recovery, such as avoiding blowing your nose, avoiding any strenuous activities and keeping your head elevated while sleeping.

Your ENT doctor in Singapore may also schedule follow-up appointments to remove any splints or packing placed in your nose during the procedure, as well as monitor for any complications and side effects.

Common Symptoms of A Deviated Nasal Septum
