What Is Hearing Loss?
Hearing loss or deafness is the decline of hearing function, where you are unable (partially or completely) to hear sound in one or both of your ears.
There are generally 3 types of hearing loss, including:

Conductive hearing loss (CHL), which involves the outer or middle ear and is due to failure in the transmission of sound through the ear structures

Diagnosis of Hearing Loss
Physical examination
Your ENT doctor in Singapore may examine your ear to look for possible causes of your hearing loss, such as a buildup of earwax, inflammation from an infection, or any visible signs of injury on your head, neck, or ears.
General screening tests
Your doctor may use the whisper test by asking you to cover one ear at a time to determine how well you hear and respond to words spoken at various volumes.
Hearing tests
During the test, you will wear headphones that transmit specific sounds into one ear at a time. You will then respond and indicate the sounds that you can hear by raising your hands.

Treatment Options for Hearing Loss
